This weeks letter is to my favorite aunts,
Dear Aunt Margaret and Aunt Doris,
You both have been major influences in my life while growing up. I remember when I was very young, going to visit you aunt Margaret when you would winter in south Florida. We would drive up to Ft Lauderdale from Miami to spend every Easter with you. We would spend the morning at your pool or the beach collecting shells, then come upstairs to your

You passed away on Christmas Day seven years ago, and I was so glad that I had visited you not too long before and had spoken to you a few months earlier. It was truly a sad day for me.

I love you both - Lisa
As you can see, both of these ladies inspired my love for the beach. Come and see some of my ocean inspired and sea glass jewelry on Handmade Jewelry's Etsy page here.
I love to read comments so please, leave one here! I eventually WILL visit your blog (if you have one) and love to comment too!

Lisa, what a lovely letter to both your aunts! My aunts were more like big sisters because our difference in age was about ten years. Heck, my mom could've been an older sister! She got married at 15 and 20 months later I was born. I spent a lot of time with my auntie Mary Lou (mom's baby sister). She always talked to me like an adult which made me feel special and grown up. I was close to all of Mom's siblings, like I said they felt like older sisters and brothers. I often think about those early years, the humble beginnings, and how simple things were. I miss that a little but I'm happy where I am today. Thanks for sharing such a sweet letter!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words Cathy. I didn't grow up with a lot of family, so now my extended family is more important than ever.

The pic of you in the wig and sunglasses is priceless. Aunt Doris looks like she is having a good time.
